Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

A Physician Assistant or Physician Associate is a type of mid-level provider. PAs may diagnose illnesses, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and may serve as a patient’s principal healthcare provider

A Nurse Practitioner is a trained and licensed nurse with a graduate-level education and advanced practice training.

They must be certified by your State Board of Nursing or receive a national certification from an agency such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
